The Insights Snapshot Badge functionality will reach end-of-life on January 12, 2026. After this date, the feature will no longer be available.

As previously announced, this feature is being deprecated. We have updated our community forum with this confirmed date. Impacted users have been notified directly.

Following our Xcode image retention policy we will be deprecating Xcode 16.2 on January 14th 2026.

We will be performing 24 hour brownouts from 00:00:01 to 23:59:59 UTC during which these images will be unavailable. The brownout and deprecation schedule can be found below.

As part of our ongoing infrastructure improvements, we will be deprecating Mac M1 and M2 resource classes on February 16th, 2026.

Ahead of the deprecation date, we will be performing 24 hour brownouts from 00:00:01 to 23:59:59 UTC, during which these resources will be unavailable. The schedule for brownouts is as follows:

It is possible to opt out of brownouts by disabling the setting at Organization Settings > Advanced > Enable image brownouts. However, please note that access to these resources will be fully removed on February 16th, 2026, regardless of brownout settings.

Please plan to transition to M4 instances (m4pro.medium and m4pro.large) ahead of the deprecation date. Details on M4 resources can be found here.

M4 resources will be made available to organizations on free plans starting November 10th, 2025.

CircleCI will no longer support the following Orbs due to limited or no use.

What does this mean?

• The Orb will no longer receive updates, bug fixes, or security patches
• The repository will be archived and made read-only
• No new issues or pull requests will be accepted
• Existing functionality may continue to work but without any support guarantees

What You Should Do

If you would like to use or create your own version of any of the orbs listed, feel free to fork the repository and use the following Build Private CircleCI Orbs documentation as a guide to making this orb into a private orb for your own use.

An experimental feature to filter notifications by branch “notify” is now deprecated. It will be removed in 30 days September 8th, 2024. Once this change is completed customers will continue to receive notifications but they will no longer be filtered by branch.

No action is required The non-functional config code will not cause compilation errors. We do recommend removing the code from your config.

What’s New

On February 15, 2022, the Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04 Linux VM images used with our machine executor were deprecated, meaning there will be no new releases or support for these images moving forward. When these images reach end of life (EOL) on May 31, 2022, any pipelines that utilize Ubuntu 14.04 or 16.04 images will fail.

In order to prevent unexpected failures and enable you to begin moving to newer images, CircleCI’s Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04 Linux virtual machine (VM) images will be temporarily unavailable in late March 2022 and late April 2022, and will become permanently unavailable as of May 31, 2022. During these temporary “brown-out” periods, if you are currently using either of these images, be sure to update your config with a newer Ubuntu machine image before the 14.04 and 16.04 images are removed at the end of May 2022.

What’s New

CircleCI will be deprecating all legacy convenience images on December 31, 2021 and moving to supporting only next-gen convenience images. This change is being made to better serve our customers, while ensuring that these next-gen convenience images are consistently reliable. The next-gen CircleCI convenience images are designed from the ground up for an execution environment, and designed to be faster, more efficient, and most importantly, more reliable.
